Hughes Software Systems showcases Triple Play Capability

Cannes, France, February 23 2004: Hughes Software Systems (HSS), an end-to-end communication solutions provider for the telecom industry, has demonstrated the triple play capability of Voice, Video and Data in a 3G network, at the 3GSM World Congress 2004, Cannes. According to the company press release, the demo, on display at Booth H9, Hall 3 from 23rd Feb to 26th Feb 2004 highlighted wireless solutions from HSS that help realize an All-IP 3G Network. The videoconference demo is a precursor to a host of value-added applications for future networks.

The 3G Data, Voice and Video demo showcases HSS' solutions for telecom equipment manufacturers, offering a unique opportunity to enhance revenue by deploying value-added applications and enhanced services. The triple play demo opens the door to a whole new class of converged services, and offers service providers the unique opportunity to a significant revenue stream, and at the same time, increased Average Revenue Per User [ARPU].

HSS is a single source for all the 3G technologies and expertise for building an All IP R5 based network. Its products include SIP Servers with wide applications like Proxies and Application servers, Protocol Stacks for User Terminal Equipment, RNC, Node B, and SGSN. HSS offers services to build these network nodes based on the specific customer requirements.

"HSS demonstrates its lead in the 3G technologies by show casing SIP based Videoconferencing for the first time on an all IP Network," said Ajay Gupta, Assistant Vice President-Business Development, HSS. "HSS, with its capabilities in 3G Wireless domain, leverages its expertise in the areas of Digital Signal Processing, Network Management, and SIP Signaling to build solutions for its customers."
