Aviva makes IT investment in efficiency

According to the Tata website, the company has been chosen to provide a range of IT services to Aviva Plc.

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is one of the world's top 20 IT consulting firms and India's largest provider of IT services to the UK insurance industry.

Under a long-term agreement, which will be finalised early in 2004, TCS will provide IT solutions and consulting services from its UK headquarters in London and offshore support from a dedicated delivery centre in Bangalore, says the site.

Aviva Plc, one of the top life insurance companies in Europe and the largest insurer in the UK, recently announced plans to create jobs in India to provide extra flexibility and capacity for its UK business, while providing further scope to enhance efficiency and continue to deliver a high level of service to its customers.

S. Ramadorai, TCS' Global CEO, said, "TCS is delighted to have Aviva as a new customer. We have a strong track record in the insurance industry and continue to invest heavily in our insurance practice, both in the UK and globally. It is very encouraging that industry leaders like Aviva demonstrate their confidence in what we can do."
